Medfly eradication from Carnarvon using AWM and SIT

This project aims to eradicate the Mediterranean Fruit Fly (Medfly) from Carnarvon in Western Australia, using a combination of fruit fly baiting and the release of sterile fruit flies (SIT).

The Adaptive Area wide management of Qfly using SIT project is being delivered by Hort Innovation in partnership with CSIRO, and is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture & Water Resources as part of its Rural R&D for Profit program. Further partners include QUT, Agriculture Victoria, NSW DPI, PIRSA, SARDI, Wine Australia and BioFly.
